CBCS - CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM

S.S. Jain Subodh P. G. College, Jaipur, is one of the best centres of teaching, learning and research nationally acclaimed in the field of higher education. The college received its autonomy in the year 2013 and has always been setting its own standards attaining the peaks as a prominent higher education institution. The institution has always acted as a torchbearer to all the students and contributed towards nation-building by rendering globally ready citizens. By designing its own curriculum in the undergraduate and post graduate level, it has rendered its best performance throughout the decade of autonomy witnessed by it and even during this period, the curriculum was student-centric with academic flexibility, filled with constructive ideas, innovations and employability opportunities

The college successfully implemented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), marking a pivotal step aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). As part of this transformative endeavour, the syllabus has been reframed in accordance with the guidelines provided. Notably, the complete evaluation system has undergone a substantial transformation. Building upon an existing foundation of value-added courses, the college has expanded its offerings, introducing an array of interchanged streams and additional value-added courses. Moreover, generic courses have been meticulously designed to cater to the diverse needs of students. The course structure has been redesigned to incorporate value-added courses, generic electives, and skill enhancement courses, all aimed at enhancing student communication, learning and employability. To ensure transparency and accountability, a grade system has been introduced, with marksheets now including the credit system and total SGPA.The earned credits stored in the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), which will allow students to transfer them between institutions based on their academic needs. This facilitated academic mobility and aligned with the global trend of recognizing and transferring academic achievements. The uniform grading system under CBCS, employed during the completed semester, not only simplified the evaluation process but also established a common benchmark for assessing candidates' performance by potential employers.
