The Department of Chemistry is one of the earliest departments to be established in 1954 and was upgraded to post graduate level in the year 2009.The Department aims at providing quality education in the conventional areas of Science and growing into a center for teaching and research with an aim to acquire prominent position in the academic map. It offers broad based post-graduate programmes with the aim of producing chemists with high professional competence in carrying out research of both basic and applied nature. The curriculum is rigorous in accord to international standards and covers theory and practical courses with full emphasis to construct intellectual assets. The department is adequately equipped with the latest instruments known and required to carry out modern day chemistry, such as Flame Photometer, UV Spectophotometer, Digital Spectrophotometer, Digital pH meter, Colorimeter, Conductometer, Potentiometer, Fuming Chamber, Balance (Electronic and Digital), Mechanical Shaker, Oven, Double Distillation Assembly, Centrifuge, Heating mantle and Refrigerator.
