The College Library

Library has an area of 5960 Sq ft which has been spread over 3 floors, thus providing easy access to the students. Library has E-library, reading section / room, Journal section, Separate common room for staff, Accession Counter, Newspaper reading section, Book bank section and dump section. Library can accommodate as many as 200 students at a time thus benefiting a large no. of students at the same time. Working hour extends up to 10 hours daily on working and examination days and 6 hours during holidays. The layout of the library has a very good ambience having individual reading carrels, lounge area for borrowings and relaxed reading corners. There is a special IT zone offered by the institution catering to the needs of the students providing the easy access to e-resources. The institution has a clearly laid out floor plan ensuring easy access to the students and teachers. The text books are arranged in different sections on the ground floor related to different streams. Proper signage system offering prominent display signs are available.

Library has a good in house collection of 1,32,983 books. Books relating to preparation for competitive examination such as CSR, Pratiyogita Darpan etc. are also housed to facilitate user’s easy access and effective use of the information. The college has an e-library with Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) facility. More than 1,25,000, e-books and more than 6,000 e-journals can be accessed by the students and faculty for research purpose. The internet facility is available in the library. Institution has collection of approximately 2000 CDs and DVDs. The Institution has purchased licensed software “Alice for Window 6. 00” from “Soft Link Asia Pvt. Ltd” for effective library management. All the entries of issue and return back of books submitted through I-cards with barcode. With the recommendation of the subject expert latest and updated 62041 volumes of Text books, 24756 Reference books are purchased by the institution thereby providing latest material for the research students.

Library Rules & Regulations

  • Entry in the library is strictly on the basis of Identity cum Library card.
  • Two books can be issued to UG level students and three books to PG level students at a time for 14 days, and if the book is not in demand the same can be reissued for further 14 days.
  • If the book is not deposited in time, a fine of Rs. 5/- per day per book is charged.
  • If the issued book is lost, the responsibility has to be borne by the borrower and he/she has to deposit another copy of the book of the same or the latest edition. If the book is not replaced, one has to deposit double cost of the book as a fine.
  • Any damage caused to the library property and books of the library, in terms of writing, underlining or tearing the pages, is subjected to the disciplinary action as per college rules.
  • As the library is automated /computerized hence, any damage caused to the barcode of the book is subjected to a fine of Rs. 100/- for each book.
  • Apart from the above rules, the library has a booklet of rules & regulations which can be obtained from the counter on demand.
  • Students have to pay Rs. 100/- for the loss of Identity cum Library card.
