National Service Scheme (NSS) Activities

National Service Schemewas initiated with the aim to provide experience to young students in delivering community services along with the educational reforms. The Subodh college has three units in which it can enroll 300 students. The unit aims to encourage social service and indulge the students to showcase their talents in various cultural events and camps organized from time to time. Studentsparticipated with great fervor and enthusiasm in the numerous activities organized throughout the year, few of which are mentioned below, along with the laurels received by the College and the Programme officers:

Session 2021-22 :

  • The college received the highest NSS award along with the prize money of Rs 1,00,000/- from Shri Ramnath Kovind, The Honorable President of India. The college is the first recipient of this award from the state of Rajasthan.
  • The mega event of this year “National Integration Camp” was organized by NSS unit of the college along with Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs Sports and NSS Regional Directorate, Jaipur, Rajasthan from March 20-26, 2021 with the objective to build unity and peace with spiritual harmony between different states and cultures of India.
  • On May 30, 2021, NSS unit of the college and IQAC cell organized a national webinar on the topic "Healthy Lifestyle for Cancer Prevention in Today’s Scenario" in association with “Sanjivani: Life beyond cancer”, in which more than 1100 participants took part across the country.
  • On the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2021, an online yoga quiz was organized on June 21, 2021. A total of 800 students from all over the country got themselves registered.
  • On the occasion of World Yoga Day - June 21, 2021, an International Webinar on "Yoga as a Health & Career Tool" was organised. Regional Director NSS, Shri S.P. Bhatnagar, keynote speaker; Ms. Priya Vyas, Hatha Yoga Acharya at Amber Traditional Hatha Yoga, and Founder Director Zenmei, India China Yoga and Body Alignment School, Fujian China, discussed the importance of yoga in this period of stress and how it can be viewed as a career opportunity. More than 1500 participants across the globe participated in the webinar. An online yoga quiz was also organized in which 800 students from all over the country got themselves registered.
  • A 7-day online workshop on yoga in collaboration of NSS, NSUT cell was organized from June 14- June 21, 2021 to celebrate the International Day of Yoga and to help the youth inculcate discipline in themselves. Acharya Swati Jha taught the participants about several yoga postures and breathing exercises throughout the workshop. A total of 5250 people registered in the event.
  • On July 8, 2021, a plantation program was organized in the college premises in which 51 saplings were planted. Prof. K. B. Sharma, Principal motivated the students with his words of inspiration and addressed them about the importance of plantation.
  • Birds are priceless creation of nature and it’s our duty to protect and take care of them. As an initiative, the Parinda program was organized on July 8, 2021, and April 23, 2022. Students kept 51 parindas on the roofs, balconies of the house and adjoining public places of the college as well as the college premises so that birds can get the water in the scorching summer season. NSS Program officers and volunteers of the college were present in the program.
  • On September 24, 2021, National Service Scheme Day was celebrated through a program on the 52nd Foundation Day of National Service Scheme in the college premises. The main objective of this program was to inculcate the spirit of service among the students and motivate them to do remarkable work in the society
  • On September 28, 2021, on the occasion of 75th Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsava, an awareness program was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jaipur in collaboration with the college. The chief guest in this program was the then District Collector Shri Antar Singh Nehra. Shri Antar Singh ji said that the youth should do work related to the service of the country and give their cooperation in building a new India. About 80 volunteers of National Service Scheme were present in the program. After the program, an awareness rally was organized from Subodh College to University of Rajasthan and garlanded the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. After that all the volunteers were made aware of Gandhiji's thoughts at the Gandhi Study Center, University of Rajasthan.
  • On October 2, 2021, a one-day program was organized on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. A cleanliness program was conducted in the college premises by the program officers and the chief guest of the program was Shri S.P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director (National Service Scheme).
  • Dr. Vishal Gautam, Program Officer, participated in the National Service Scheme, North Zone East Republic Day Parade Camp, 2021 organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, from October 18, 2021 to October 27, 2021 at Biyani College of Science and Management, Kalvad.
  • On November 27, 2021, an orientation program for NSS volunteers was organized in the college premises. The chief guest of the programme was Dr. Banay Singh, State Coordinator, Youth Skill Development, National Service Scheme Commissionerate. He gave detailed information about the activities of NSS to all the volunteers.
  • A one-day workshop was organized by Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jaipur on November 27, 2021. Dr. Lalit Kumar Sharma and Shri Avinash Kumar were the keynote speakers, who gave tips on improvement of diet and how to lead a good and healthy life.
  • A 7-day camp was organized from November 29, 2021 to December 5, 2021 at Gaushala, Durgapura. NSS volunteers actively participated in the different day-to-day activities held in the gaushala.
  • On December 2, 2021, an awareness rally was initiated by the NSS volunteers for environmental protection, with the purpose of spreading awareness among the public regarding environmental protection.
  • Dr. Vishal Gautam, Program Officer, participated in the National Service Scheme Republic Day Parade Camp 2022, New Delhi from January 1, 2022 to January 31, 2022, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
  • On February 14, 2022, a district level cultural program was organized in the college by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Shri Mahendra Sisodia, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Shri Vikesh, Former Vice President, Scheduled Castes Commission graced the event with their presence. About 120 volunteers of National Service Scheme participated in the programme.
  • On February 15, 2022, a District level Youth Parliament 2022 was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in which about 70 volunteers of NSS participated and expressed their views.
  • The State Level Youth Parliament 2022 was organized on February 25, 2022 at college by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Mr. Pawan Amrawat, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shri Mahesh Sharma, Former Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shri Mahendra Sisodia, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, participated in the youth parliament.
  • On March 12, 2022, NSS program officers along with about 250 volunteers participated in the 92nd anniversary of the historic Dandi Yatra. Shri Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Food and Supplies, Cabinet Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Dharmendra Chahar, State Liaison Officer, National Service Scheme, Government Secretariat, Jaipur, addressed thousands of volunteers
  • A lecture on “Yoga Meditation and Stress Management” was organized on March 5, 2022 by Mr. Abhishek Soti, Computer Engineer, who deals with Meditation and Stress and is also an expert in management. Around 250 volunteers participated in this program
  • . Under the joint aegis of Raksha Sutra Foundation, Cyber Crime Awareness was organized on April 12, 2022 in the college auditorium. Ranu Sharma, Additional SP; Ravi Chaudhary, Pradhan Dudu and Manas Trivedi, Founder Raksha Sutra and Neeraj Sharma, Co-Founder Raksha Sutra were present as chief guests in the program
  • . A NSS volunteer, Shubham Pareek was awarded with the prestigious NSS State Level Award 2019-20 at the Directorate College Education, Jaipur. He received the award for his contribution in the different ventures of NSS.
  • Dr. Richa Singhal, NSS program officer was awarded with the ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for her remarkable contribution in organizing the seven-day workshop on Yoga from June 14 -June 21, 2021, organized by the NSS- Netaji Subhash University of Technology, New Delhi, in collaboration with S.S. Jain Subodh PG College, Jaipur.

  • Dr. Vishal Gautam, NSS program officer participated in an Interactive online session on “Youth and its Mental Health during Pandemic” organized by Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh, held on March 14, 2022
  • . Dr. Vishal Gautam, NSS program officer delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Role of NSS in Nation Building” in workshop organized by Team Dekode yourself held on February 20, 2022.

Session 2020-21 :

  • A NSS volunteer, AkshayMourya was awarded with the prestigious NSS State Level Award 2018-19 at the Directorate College Education, Jaipur. He received the award for his selfless and dedicated contribution in the different ventures of NSS.
  • The NSS wing of the college organized an online COVID-19 pandemic awareness quiz with an objective to create awareness about the novel coronavirus on May 19 – 20,2020.
  • Dr.Anshul Sharma, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona Warrior" by Pinkcity Ayurveda Sansthan (NGO) on May 2020 for food distribution to the needy persons of the society.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona Financial Warrior" by Salute Tiranga, (NGO) on May 2020 for financial help to the needy persons of the society.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona & Dengue Warrior" by Star Social Group on August 2020 for contribution towards the services in the crucial pandemic time.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "National Corona Warrior" by Global Youth Peace Conclave in March 2021 for Animal Protection.
  • Dr. Richa Singhal, NSS program officer was awarded as ‘Corona-warrior’ for food and mask distributions to the needy section of the society by My Right Federation (National Level NGO) on May 2020.
  • Dr. Richa Singhal, NSS program officer was awarded by Star Jaipur Ratan Award by Star social group and Lions Club Jaipur Heritage on August 15, 2020 for her contribution towards academics and society.
  • The NSS unit organized a tree plantation programme in the college campus on August 2020. ShVinay Chand Daga, College Convener; Sh. S. P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director, NSS; Sh.Sharvan Ram Katariya graced the occasion with their benign presence.
  • The college NSS unit participated in the ‘Fit India, Freedom India’ run organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, NYKS and NSS at SMS stadium from August 15 to October 2, 2020 by inviting Sh. Bhaskar Sawant and Regional Director Sh. S. P. Bhatnagar as chief guests who awakened the NSS volunteers by elaborating the significance of keeping oneself fit by doing regular Yoga, exercise and running which would give them the strength and power to fight the corona virus.
  • The NSS unit of the college on October 17, 2020 participated in the “No Mask No Entry” Campaign drive which was launched by pasting posters all over the college to strictly enforce the rule of wearing mask and maintaining social distancing in the college campus.
  • An online quiz on ‘Human Rights Awareness’ was also conducted on the occasion of International Human RightsDay on December 10, 2020 in which participation in the quiz was open to all students. E-certificate were provided to all the participants.
  • On December 22, 2020, the NSS unit of college participated in the One Day State Level Workshop organized by Jeevan Ashram Sanstha on the topic “Empowerment of Adolescents and Young People under Naubat Baja Missed-Call Based Edutainment Channel”.
  • On the splendid 125th Birth Anniversary of Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose, to honor and remember his indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, a debate was organized for NSS volunteers on January 23, 2021.
  • On the occasion of "Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsava", 'PadosYuvaSansad' was organized in the college where NSS volunteers and young volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra participated.The event was inaugurated by chief guest Sh. Rajendra Prasad Sain, and special guest, Dr.Bhuvnesh Jain, Nehru YuvaKendra, New Delhi.
  • On April 10, 2021, the World Homeopathy Day and the closing ceremony of Homeopathy Awareness Campaign was organized in the college premises by Homeopathy Development Association (HDA) and Upliftment of Society with Holistic and Homeopathic Approach.
  • The NSS unit of the college actively participated in the video conference headed by Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot on the auspicious event of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, which was organized in the collaboration of College Education, Rajasthan, Peace and Ahimsa Department, Department of Art, Literature, Culture and Archaeological Department on April 13,2021.
