Research and Consultancy

The Institution imbibes a strong research culture and integrates it with academics, at both, student and faculty levels. The IQAC and Research Committee facilitate and monitor the research activities. The committee provides all kinds of procedural and practical support to researchers. The institution promotes faculty members from each department to begin their research career through provision of academic leaves, seed money and institutional research facilities.
The institution promotes research, inculcates research culture and provides infrastructure for research activities. Faculty members from ten departments are approved research guides and after reaccreditation. Among the faculty, one member is pursuing postdoctoral research, and ten have completed their doctoral studies after last accreditation. Faculty members are also engaged in research projects funded by research funding agencies. DST, ISRO, BRNS, UGC, ICSSR, ICHR and SPPU are the external agencies providing a major part of the research funding. The college also provides research/ project grants to the students through UGC-CPE and UGC-BSR schemes.
The major strength of the institution is research inclination of its faculty members. Apart from several publications in International and National journals with good impact factors and citation index, 02 patents have also been filed by the faculty members. The institution has recently introduced two research journals “The Subodh Journal of Social Sciences & Humanities” and “The Subodh Journal of Commerce & Management” while one journal “The Subodh Journal of Recent Trends in Information Technology (SJRTIT)” is published since 2010. In last five years, the institution has organised 18 conferences at National and International level, numerous Workshops/ seminars/ sensitizing programmes which were widely acknowledged and were attended by national and international experts in the field.
The faculty members are involved in free as well as paid consultancy services in various areas. Department of Environment Science, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Computer Science, and History etc. are regularly providing services and knowledge based consultancy to different people and organisations. Significant consultancy work in the area of environmental issues is Environmental Impact Assessment of Industrail Units, Soil Analysis through ‘Soil Health Card Scheme. ’ Environmental Impact Assessment of Mining areas, and Investor Awareness Program framed by Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of Rajasthan, which is being carried out by the institution since the reaccreditation period.
As an effort to inculcate social consciousness among students institution encourages participation in NSS, NCC, Rovers and Red Ribbon Club. They promote understanding of social realities and develop concern for the well-being of the community particularly of the weaker sections. Our institution engages in out reach as well as extension programs and encourages students to volunteer in community participation and development. The institution has adopted the village Tankarda near Chomu in Jaipur district to promote social outreach activities. Integration of curriculum with social issues of relevance also provides personality enrichment to awaken the extraordinary potential and multifaceted qualities of students. These efforts helped the students establish link between institution and the community at large.
Collaborations with different International and National Institutes/ Universities has been proactively followed for the purpose of research, on job training, faculty exchange and development, placements, extension and outreach activities. International MoUs with Institute of Crystallography, Russian Academy of Sciences Moscow, Russia, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and University of Wolverhampton, UK lead to cultivation and promotion of enriching educational practices through collaborative research. Faculty members from different departments are collaborating with various National level research groups located at different parts of the country. The Department of Physics has collaboration with IUAC New Delhi, IIT Jodhpur, CSIR Hyderabad, IIT Delhi, and UGC-DAE-CSR Indore for its research activities. Similarly Environmental Science department is working with a research group from DAE - BRNS Mumbai, ESL- Rawatbhata Atomic Power Station, Kota (Rajasthan), Rawatbhata Atomic Station Hospital, Kota (Rajasthan), Department of Chemistry, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and Rajasthan Technical University, Kota (Rajasthan) and also running a collaborative research project.
