Changes during the last one or two decades have
seen the emergence of:- I) Technical education with narrow specializations and
with little social/liberal art contents; II) management education that does
not require any particular set of educational qualifications for entry and
III) professional education is related only to very specific skills or job
needs.
At the same time, many changes have occurred in
the job market. In the public sector, the number of available jobs has been
reduced drastically. Out of the available jobs, most of the jobs require
candidates with special skills/training. Power, telecom, civil engineers,
architects, computer specialists etc are being preferred to general
arts/science/commence graduates even for jobs that were earlier regarded as
common jobs i.e. jobs that do not require special skills as a requisite
qualification.
Analytical skills are imparted in the process
of learning all subjects including geography or history or economics. Apart
from providing specific subject knowledge, the process of learning enables
students to acquire analytical and logical ability.
