National Service Scheme (NSS) Activities

National Service Schemewas initiated with the aim to provide experience to young students in delivering community services along with the educational reforms. The Subodh college has three units in which it can enroll 300 students. The unit aims to encourage social service and indulge the students to showcase their talents in various cultural events and camps organized from time to time. Studentsparticipated with great fervor and enthusiasm in the numerous activities organized throughout the year, few of which are mentioned below, along with the laurels received by the College and the Programme officers:

Session 2020-21 :

  • On May 30 2021, NSS unit of the college and IQAC cell organized a national webinar on the topic "Healthy Lifestyle for Cancer Prevention in Today’s Scenario" in association with “SANJIVANI life beyond cancer”, in which more than 1100 participants took part across the country.
  • The college received the highest NSS award along with the prize money of Rs 1,00,000/- from Shri Ramnath Kovind, The Honorable President of India. The college is the first recipient of this award from the state of Rajasthan.
  • The mega event of this year “National Integration Camp” was organized by NSS unit of the college along with Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs Sports and NSS Regional Directorate, Jaipur, Rajasthan from March 20-26, 2021 with the objective to build unity and peace with spiritual harmony between different states and cultures of India.
  • A NSS volunteer, AkshayMourya was awarded with the prestigious NSS State Level Award 2018-19 at the Directorate College Education, Jaipur. He received the award for his selfless and dedicated contribution in the different ventures of NSS.
  • The NSS wing of the college organized an online COVID-19 pandemic awareness quiz with an objective to create awareness about the novel coronavirus on May 19 – 20,2020.
  • Dr.Anshul Sharma, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona Warrior" by Pinkcity Ayurveda Sansthan (NGO) on May 2020 for food distribution to the needy persons of the society.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona Financial Warrior" by Salute Tiranga, (NGO) on May 2020 for financial help to the needy persons of the society.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "Corona & Dengue Warrior" by Star Social Group on August 2020 for contribution towards the services in the crucial pandemic time.
  • Dr.Vishal Gauttam, NSS Program Officer was awarded as "National Corona Warrior" by Global Youth Peace Conclave in March 2021 for Animal Protection.
  • Dr. Richa Singhal, NSS program officer was awarded as ‘Corona-warrior’ for food and mask distributions to the needy section of the society by My Right Federation (National Level NGO) on May 2020.
  • Dr. Richa Singhal, NSS program officer was awarded by Star Jaipur Ratan Award by Star social group and Lions Club Jaipur Heritage on August 15, 2020 for her contribution towards academics and society.
  • The NSS unit organized a tree plantation programme in the college campus on August 2020. ShVinay Chand Daga, College Convener; Sh. S. P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director, NSS; Sh.Sharvan Ram Katariya graced the occasion with their benign presence.
  • The college NSS unit participated in the ‘Fit India, Freedom India’ run organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, NYKS and NSS at SMS stadium from August 15 to October 2, 2020 by inviting Sh. Bhaskar Sawant and Regional Director Sh. S. P. Bhatnagar as chief guests who awakened the NSS volunteers by elaborating the significance of keeping oneself fit by doing regular Yoga, exercise and running which would give them the strength and power to fight the corona virus.
  • The NSS unit of the college on October 17, 2020 participated in the “No Mask No Entry” Campaign drive which was launched by pasting posters all over the college to strictly enforce the rule of wearing mask and maintaining social distancing in the college campus.
  • An online quiz on ‘Human Rights Awareness’ was also conducted on the occasion of International Human RightsDay on December 10, 2020 in which participation in the quiz was open to all students. E-certificate were provided to all the participants.
  • On December 22, 2020, the NSS unit of college participated in the One Day State Level Workshop organized by Jeevan Ashram Sanstha on the topic “Empowerment of Adolescents and Young People under Naubat Baja Missed-Call Based Edutainment Channel”.
  • On the splendid 125th Birth Anniversary of Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose, to honor and remember his indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, a debate was organized for NSS volunteers on January 23, 2021.
  • On the occasion of "Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsava", 'PadosYuvaSansad' was organized in the college where NSS volunteers and young volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra participated.The event was inaugurated by chief guest Sh. Rajendra Prasad Sain, and special guest, Dr.Bhuvnesh Jain, Nehru YuvaKendra, New Delhi.
  • On April 10, 2021, the World Homeopathy Day and the closing ceremony of Homeopathy Awareness Campaign was organized in the college premises by Homeopathy Development Association (HDA) and Upliftment of Society with Holistic and Homeopathic Approach.
  • The NSS unit of the college actively participated in the video conference headed by Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot on the auspicious event of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, which was organized in the collaboration of College Education, Rajasthan, Peace and Ahimsa Department, Department of Art, Literature, Culture and Archaeological Department on April 13,2021.

Session 2019-20 :

  • The college received the highest NSS award along with the prize money of Rs 1,00,000/- from Shri Ramnath Kovind, The Honorable President of India. The college is the first recipient of this award from the state of Rajasthan.
  • Dr. Kapil Kumar Anand received the highest NSS award 2017-18 along with the prize money of Rs 50,000/- from the Honorable President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind at the Darbar Hall at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on 24th September, 2019.
  • Dr. Bharat Pareek, NSS program officer was awarded with the prestigious NSS State Level Award 2017-18 at the Directorate College Education, Jaipur. He received the award for his commendable contribution in the different ventures of NSS.
  • A special camp of seven days was organized by NSS at the adopted slum, Durgapura Gaushala from 7th Jan to 13th Jan, 2019. During the camp the team spread awareness amidst the citizens on various topics like National Unity Day, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Voter Awareness and Healthy Lifestyle.
  • Twelve NSS volunteers from the college and Contingent Leader Dr. Vishal Gauttam represented Rajasthan State in the National Integration Camp at Bangalore. The National Integration Camp was organized from 24th February to 1st March, 2020. All the NSS volunteers participated in activities with humongous zest .
  • College NSS cell organized Blood Donation camp on 12th February, 2020 in the college campus and 350 units of blood was donated.
  • The NSS unit organized an awareness program on Road Safety, held on 8th February 2020 on the occasion of 31st National Road Safety Week that aims at bringing change through youth power.
  • One NSS Volunteer, Ms. Jhanvi Khoji was selected for the Republic Day Parade 2020. She was the part of the Marching Contingent of NSS which took place at Raj Path during the esteemed program of Republic Day.
  • On NSS day, 24th September 2019, NSS programme officers marked the occasion by spreading awareness among the NSS volunteers about the Motto "Not Me But You" and future prospects of NSS and encouraged them to selflessly serve the Nation.
  • On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, NSS unit organized a lecture of Prof. Vidya Jain, Former Principal, Maharani’s College, along with poetry and poster making competition to pay tribute to the Bapu ji.
  • During the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2nd November 2019, Central Warehousing Corporation and NSS units collectively conducted an ‘Integrity Pledge’ as a symbolic fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existing causes and gravity of threat posed by corruption.
  • The NSS volunteers had participated in State level NSS competition held on 26th November 2019 organized by Rajkiya Mahavidhyalaya, Jaipur. Ms. Arundhati Sharma, stood second in elocution and Ms. Anjali Dixit and Mr Satyendra Pal Singh Rathore stood third in Quiz.
  • The NSS unit in association with the Sustainability Awareness Group, Washington D.C. on 29th November 2019, marked the day by a super-successful rally headed by NSS program officers. The rally started from Gandhi Murthy circle, JLN Marg at 7.00 a.m. to Aranya Bhawan and then ended at Gandhi circle by 8:30 a.m. The students spread the message to save environment by means of parachute and posters throughout the rally.
  • The NSS units have participated in Road Safety Program held on 13th December 2019 at Rambagh Circle with an aim of bringing awareness amongst public about the traffic rules. The program was graced by the presence of Additional Police Commissioner Ajay Pal Singh, Rahul Prakash (DCP), Lalit Sharma (ACP), S P Bhatnagar (Regional Director, NSS), Narendra Bhuria (Rajasthan Youth Board Secretary).
  • The NSS units of the college organized a tree plantation drive on 10th September 2019 at the premises of our college. Our principal welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Rafeeq Khan, MLA, Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur. He addressed and appreciated the students for their efforts and, he then led the crew to Gaushala for plantation.
  • On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day (13th August 2019), an interactive programme was organized by NSS unit in collaboration with Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Yuva Manch to encourage donation of organs and body post death.
