Established in 1966 the department is proposed
to be upgraded to Post Graduation in the coming session 2010-11. All the
sanctioned posts of the teachers are filled out of which four hold PhD as
their highest degree and one is MPhil. Two have submitted their PhD with
defence pending and one is pursuing his PhD. Total number of teachers in the
department is 8.
One departmental library with 191 books and
journals, one departmental computer and one laptop.
