NAAC PEER TEAM VISIT
NAAC Peer Team visited the institution for
Reaccreditation. It was a three day long visit wherein they met and interacted
with all the faculty, staff members as well as Students/, Alumni and Parents.
They visited various departments and research labs, inspected facilities like
Library, Sport Grounds, Gym, canteen etc of our institution. The Peer Team was
highly impressed by the institution and recommended "A" grade for our college.
Finally our college received the A grade certificate on 24th April, 2011 by
chairman of NAAC at Bangaluru with 3.72 CGPA. This is the highest CGPA score
awarded to any institution in North India and places our college among top 4
reaccredited institutions of India.
STUDENT UNION ELECTION
Student's Union election for the Academic
Session 2010-11 were successfully conducted on August 25, 2010 as per the
direction and guidelines of Hon'able High Court and University of Rajasthan.
The Chief Proctor Dr. Pyare Lal and his team did a commendable job in
organizing the filing of application, framing of code of conduct and observing
that no violation takes place. The student's representative elected were:
Sh. Gopal Singh Rasliyawas for the post of
President;
Sh. Luv Shekhawat for the post of Vice
President;
Sh. Yogeshwar Singh Shekhawat for the post of
General Secretary;
Sh Vikas Sharma for the post of Joint Secretary.
Immediately after the counting and declaration
of results the student leaders took oath to work in discipline and democratic
manner.
STUDENT UNION
INAUGURATION
College organized a formal inauguration ceremony
for the Students Union on 20th October, 2010 with Sh Arun Chaturvedi, State
Head, BJP as Chief Guest and Sh Narpat Singh Rajwi, MLA, BJP as president of
the ceremony. Guest of Honour were Sh Man Singh Kinsaria, BJP MLA and Sh Kali
Charan Saraf, BJP MLA.
CAREER COUNSELING AND
PLACEMENT CELL
Career counseling & placement cell operating at
room 108 helps students in developing right career plans. Center offers a wide
range of support service with regards to further studies in India or abroad,
advising students for selection of suitable course and helping them to get
admission into top ranked universities. Guidance is also available for
cracking prestigious entrance examinations. Seminars are being organized
periodically for personality & soft skills development. Placement cell helps
students find a suitable job & advise them about available summer internship
openings. Campus placement event was organized in 2011 wherein ACC Cement, a
large corporate, have selected 11 students of B.Sc. Maths as executives on a
package of 3.75 Lacs. Students can avail services of expert career counselor
Dr. Sudha Calla, Mr. Yogesh Gupta, Mr. Manoj Misran & their team of counselors
on weekdays from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM.

GORBAND
Annual Cultural event of S.S. Jain Subodh P.G.
College "GORBAND" was organised by the Student Union on 28th January, 2011
under the guidance of Faculty and Staff. It was a two day event which included
various inter college competitions like Quiz, Dance etc. Many students from
all the colleges of Jaipur participated in these programs. The signing off
event and a big crowd gatherer was the Gala Evening on 29th January wherein
dance troops and stage performers of repute were invited to perform.
ANNUAL PRIZE
DISTRIBUTION
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony is organized
as grand event of the college. On this occasion meritorious students are given
prize by the renowned dignitaries to boost up student's moral and continue the
winning attiude in them. Sh. Rajendra Bhanawat, a senior IAS and patron of our
college acted as Chief Guest and awarded our students with cash and trophies
for their achievements in academic and co-curricular field & Sh. Pratap Singh
Khachariyawas, MLA presided the function.
B.B.A. ORIENTATION
PROGRAM
A three day orientation program was organized by
the Department of Bachelor in Business Administration from 24th to 27th July,
2010 in the college auditorium. The students were addressed by Dr. Mohit Kumar
Roy, alumnus IIM Ahmedabad. Dr. Sukant Sharma, Co-ordinator BBA introduced the
faculty to the students and spoke on various issues related to personality
development, communication skills etc.
BCA ORIENTATION PROGRAM
An orientation program was organised by the
Computer Science department for BCA, MSc IT and PGDCA students on 2nd August,
2010 for the bouncing beginning of their session in this college. The invited
guest for the occasion was Prof. Ramesh Arora, Senior Fulbright Fellow at
Maxwell School for Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse, New York. Dr.
Sudha Calla Deputy Director introduced the faculty members to the students.
"BYTES ON BEATS 2010"
The department of Computer Science organized an
annual cultural event "Bytes on Beats 2010" on 14th October, 2010. The program
began with the introduction and ramp walk performance by the fresher students
of the department followed by western solo and group dance performances. Solo
songs and group songs and play performed by the students in the end added the
flavour to the event. At last the titles "Mr. Byte, 2010" and "Miss Beat,
2010" were given to the winners of the best male and female fresher contest.
ALUMNI MEET
Alumni meet was held on 13th February, 2011 and
all members of Alumni Association were formally invited for the same. It was a
big and successful event which included exchange of experiences, review of
changes etc by the old boys. Many old students who are now successfully
established in their career or businesses came back to their alma mater for
the day and all were very appreciative of the continuous changes and
improvements introduced in the institution.
STUDENT SEMINAR
A seminar was conducted on 14th September, 2010
for our professional students by the department of Computer Science with the
help of the IBM Academic initiative representatives. As its consequence our
students participated in "The Great Mind Challenge", National level software
development contest under the supervision of the departmental faculties and
the IBM's technical support committee. Their projects are ongoing and in the
development phase.
MANAGEMENT QUIZ
Department of Bachelor of Business
Administration organized a business quiz on 26th October 2010. The whole event
was organized and managed by the students and it was creatively framed and
conducted in the college premises. The hall, where the final rounds of quiz
were conducted, gave an aura of the famous serial kaun banega crorepati.
SPORTS CORNER
This year too S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. College
maintained its winning tradition in various inter college and inter University
events. Our college team was declared winner in 6 team events and runner up in
two events. About 32 students participated in various inter university events,
representing University of Rajasthan.
Events where our team stood winner were Table
Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Tennis, Cricket and Weight lifting. Dinesh Makhija
retained the title of Mr. University for consecutive third year.
N.S.S.
NSS is a voluntary activity open to the students
of all the facilities so that they can provide community service to the socity.
The concepts behind NSS are overall development of students through service.
Three NSS units are functioned in the college.
The college organized a cultural exchange
program on 7th October, 2010. It was organized under the banner of Ministry of
Youth Affairs and sports, Government of India. The occasion was graced by Sh
Mangi Lal Garasiya, Minister for Youth Affairs, Ms. Anita Bhartiya- Zonal
Director Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sh. S.S., Joshi, Director Nehru Yuva Kendra
Rajasthan, Sh. Rohit Kumar Singh- Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports,
Government of Rajasthan Sh Ashok Kewalia, Program Director NSS State Unit.
Students of Gujarat, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh,
Haryana, Punjab and our own state Rajasthan took whole hearted part in the
festival and presented the viewers with a colourful glimpse of their
respective states.
A seven day camp was organized at Goshala
Durgapura from 21th -27th December. Tanning regarding organic farming and
gopar gas plant was given to the students. Road safety week & blood donation
camps were also organized 814 units of blood was collected on 12th Dec. 2010.
N.C.C.
The college has facility for N.C.C. training
relating to Army, Navy and Air Force. Opportunities of army training through
N.C.C. is provided to the students of the college and every year armed and
other forces (CISF, CRP, Police, Home Guards) organize recruitment camps etc,
where a few posts are reserved for N.C.C. cadets holding "C" certificate.
N.C.C. cadets get exemption in written examination for the post of
Commissioned Officers. N.C.C. also aims at providing free of cost training for
firing, rock climbing, Para jumping, mountaineering, trekking and hand gliding
etc.. Poor but intelligent cadets get scholarship through N.C.C. programmes.
This year 4 students of our institution have represented the college in the
Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD
The students of B.Sc. Part III participate in
Inter college chemistry Olympiad at University's Maharani's College and
awarded winner.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Computer Department launched a peer reviewed
ISSN Numbered Journal "The Subodh Journal of Recent Trends in Information
Technology" on the annual basis. The journal will review and publish the
quality research views on new trends and innovations in the field of
Information Technology.
Dr. Pravesh Kumar from Department of Political
Science has also launched a bi annual peer reviewed scholarly ISSN numbered
National Journal of Social Sciences "ABEER".
College Magazine "Subodh Amrit" was published
with joint efforts of faculty and student editors. It contains articles from
Students as well as Faculty members.
SPIRITUAL LECTURE
A spiritual lecture was organised for our
students on 24th December with the help of the Pracharaks of the ISKCON
Society. They told that the sacrifice, charity and penances are three
essential things for attaining spiritual light and we cannot bring in peace
and prosperity simply by material activities. They also splashed the light on
the fact that the unrest of the world is not created by God, but it is so done
by the misguided mind of the sensuous man.
MOU between S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. College &
Brooksly Melton College, UK : 9th Feb. 2011
In addition to regular courses offered, MoUs
have been signed with Swansea Metropolitan University, Brooksby Melton
College, Leicestershire and Colleg Sir Gar for promoting research, staff and
student exchange programs. The role of Mr. Robert Davies is worth appreciable
for arranging the MoU with different universities. Studying at these
institutions will certainly develop employability skills and provide work
placement globally.
For students willing to study further in India
or abroad, an arrangement has been made in the college to provide expert
guidance for selection of suitable course and universities.
Dr. K. B. Sharma, Principal of the College
visited Several top ranked universities of U.K. in may 2011 to facilitate
preferential admission and award of scholarship for further study of subodh
college students.
