Established in 2006 the department was upgraded to Post Graduation in 2009. All the four sanctioned posts of the teachers are filled with faculty members holding PhD as their highest degree.

One fully equipped laboratory with 02 computers, charts, models, maps and other required equipments. Departmental library with about 300 books and journals.

Faculty members participated in 02 National Level seminars and Conferences.

Dr. B.P. Sharma is a leading cartographer of north India. He is also associated with ISRO Hyderabad for remote sensing studies. The department has research collaboration with:
